Activities

Introduction
Students will start the day at Circular Quay Wharf. Here students will meet their Ranger Jamie Guides for the day, before splitting into groups of approx. 30-35. From here students will board the private boat and begin their adventurous journey.

Activity 1: Ranger Jamie Harbour Adventure
Students will board a private charter from Circular Quay to begin a fun, sight-filled charter across Sydney Harbour. Students will observe features and parts of the beautiful Sydney Cove, while a Ranger Jamie Tour guide will provide fun facts over the ship’s speakers. During this time, students will be broken into teams, where they will be encouraged to come up with a team name, dance and/or chant and hand out child-friendly face paint for students to paint their faces in their team colours / patterns.

Activities 2 & 3: We will run x2 of the below activities. You are able to choose which activities suit your cohort best and customise your experience.

Students will then rotate through x2 activities in their groups. Each group will have x1 Ranger and have the opportunity to complete each activity. Each activity will go for roughly 20-25 minutes.
Please note:

Challenge 1: Launching Air Pressure Rockets: Ever dreamed of launching a rocket so far up into the atmosphere you couldn’t see it? Focusing on the force of ‘air pressure’ we bring the fun to you! Students design and build their very own rockets before launching their spacecraft into the sky above the rooftops using a specially designed high-pressure industrial rocket launcher. Guaranteed to get the adrenaline pumping, students will watch in awe as they witness their rockets roar into the sky. Through championship competitions with their friends, students will monitor the highest rockets, learning how each shape and design affects performance. A unique, engaging and action-packed activity focusing on pressure and its effects on everyday materials.

Challenge 2: Sandcastle Building Competition: Students will put their creative and architectural skills to create the most incredible sand sculpture. Using teamwork and artistic skills, they will be challenged to create the most unique and original sand building.

Challenge 3: Tower Building Challenge: Students participate in a tower building challenge using PVC pipes, tape and any other materials they can source. Who can build the tallest or most robust tower?

Activity 4: Scenic Sydney Harbour Tour
Students will finish this day with a final, intrepid adventure back to Circular Quay. During this time they will have the chance to eat their lunch while the Rangers will wander around, asking the students what they have learned and/or enjoyed most about the day.
