About Factors That Shape Places at Symbio
Pet a possum, feel a python and feed the wallabies in their natural habitat on this interactive and hands-on day at Symbio Wildlife Park! During this action-packed excursion, students embark on intimate guided tours discovering how people and environments influence one another. Discover how people influence places on two engaging walks through the park with our expert Rangers. Students will examine native and exotic animal species up close in their custom enclosures mimicking native environments and explore the diverse features and characteristics of ecosystems including wetlands, water lagoons, bushland, deserts and rainforests. As they observe the animals in their enclosures, they’ll examine and describe the features and characteristics of places and environments. Between animal interactions and interactive presentations, students will analyse the crucial role of wildlife parks and discover how spaces are managed within Symbio, comparing and contrasting influences on the management of people and places. Students will be challenged to think about their own role in sustainability and how we as humans can help to preserve the environment. They will also investigate the importance of a range of breeding programs in populating Australia’s endangered animal species, and see how people have changed the environment in Australia and overseas and how this has affected the animals and plants in those areas. Your students will be bursting with extensive knowledge and fun facts after this exciting and unforgettable day!
