Day Outline

Arrival / Morning Tea / Toilet Break
10:00am – 10:25am Enjoy morning tea and meet our enthusiastic rangers
Students split into groups of 30-35 and rotate through the first two activties
10:25am – 10:40am Introduction to the history of Pyrmont
10:40am – 11:20am Embark on a fascinating historical walk through Pyrmont; highlighting urban development and green spaces
11:20am – 12:00pm Experience the thrill of hand reel fishing at King Street Wharf, learning about sustainable practices and the local ecosystem.
12:00pm – 12:30pm  Lunch: Recharge and socialise during lunch, discussing the morning’s adventures
12:30pm – 1:10pm Enjoy a scenic walk to Barangaroo Reserve, stopping to answer questions from activity booklets along the way.
1:10pm – 1:45pm Engage in a hands-on assessment of Barangaroo’s sustainable design and environmental significance.
Wrap up the day with reflections on key learnings and prepare for departure.

Wharf Hand Reel Fishing: Experience the thrill of wharf hand reel fishing, while enjoying the stunning Sydney Harbour. This hands-on activity highlights sustainable fishing practices and emphasises the connection between people and their marine environment.

Walk to Barangaroo Reserve for final assessment: Conclude the day with a scenic 30-minute walk to Barangaroo Reserve, where students will engage in group discussions and activities to reflect on their learning. This journey illustrates the importance of urban green spaces and their role in enhancing community well-being and environmental health.
