About Life Cycles Classification and Survival of Living Things at Symbio

Your students will never get a better close-up look at living things and life cycles than through a visit to Symbio Wildlife Park! Students will have the opportunity to investigate first-hand how living things have life cycles, and how they depend on their environment. They’ll see animals in their native habitats and learn how the environment needs them in order to survive. They’ll get up close to our animal friends and compare the features and characteristics of living things, and collect data and identify patterns to group living things according to their external features and distinguish them from non-living things. Our experienced Rangers will guide students through enclosures housing exotic and native flora and fauna, giving the students the chance to learn how scientific observations help people understand the effect their actions have on the environment, and how we can care for our environment to ensure the survival of living things. With live animal encounters and guided walks visiting an array of fascinating creatures, students will be enthralled at their connection to nature and brimming with newfound respect for the survival of living things!

Introduction and Live Animal Presentation: Start the day in the amphitheatre with your own exclusive live animal presentation. Meet a selection of five animals ranging from possums, lizards, snakes, reptiles, birds, and alligators. Please note that animals may differ from day to day, and while we endeavour to include as many animals in the presentation as possible, our primary responsibility is to ensure that animals and students are safe and comfortable, and we may elect to exclude an animal from the presentation at the Ranger’s discretion if it becomes distressed or agitated.

Two complete guided tours;

  • Lower Walk: Get up close and meet farmyard animals – goats, chickens, roosters, sheep, llamas and guinea pigs – as well as dingos, wedge-tailed eagles, ring tailed lemurs, echidnas, wombats, Tasmanian devils and MORE! On this walk students can also get up close and personal with kangaroos and wallabies in an interactive zone.
  • Upper Walk: Visit venomous snakes, pythons, lizards, koalas, crocs, red pandas, meerkats, monkeys, marmosets and MORE!
