Healthy Communities & Inclusion | Victorian Curriculum Levels 9-10

Ditch the desks and launch your students into a high-octane arena where collective success is the only metric. This immersive hovercraft build is a sophisticated vehicle for exploring Contributing to Healthy Communities, precision-engineered for Victorian Curriculum Levels 9-10.

Guided by our expert Rangers, students must break down social barriers and unify to succeed. Within the Personal, Social, and Community Health strand, they are challenged to forge an inclusive culture, leveraging every voice to solve complex engineering hurdles. They’ll navigate the friction of group dynamics, practicing advanced negotiation and empathy to ensure total team cohesion.

Using a structured Empowerment Journal, students evaluate how inclusive leadership directly impacts wellbeing. They’ll forge the social maturity to champion diversity and the grit to lead through adversity. They walk away with a resilient mindset, unstoppable self-belief, and the bold collaborative courage to rise together.

Part 1: THE INCLUSION BLUEPRINT
Using their Empowerment Journals, students analyse their roles within social systems. They evaluate how individual values and biases influence Healthy Communities and set intentions for a truly inclusive build.

Part 2: SYSTEMS & STRATEGY
Teams engineer their hovercraft while managing complex interpersonal dynamics. Students evaluate different leadership styles and experiment with strategies to optimize team performance and technical innovation.

Part 3: ADVOCATING FOR COHESION
As the pressure peaks, students practice advanced negotiation to resolve conflict. They focus on Social Inclusion, actively working to dismantle barriers and ensure diverse perspectives are leveraged for the team’s success.

Part 4: THE LEADERSHIP AUDIT
Students reflect on their Self-Management and influence on others. They identify how their emotional intelligence and “bounce-back” resilience directly impact the collective wellbeing and progress of the group.

Part 5: THE ULTIMATE LIFT-OFF
It’s time to ride! Shared success cements a lasting legacy of inclusion as students lift, race, and glide. This high-octane finish proves that a commitment to diversity and grit can defy gravity, leaving them with a tangible toolkit for future growth.

FAQS

What is a hovercraft?

A hovercraft is a vehicle that operates by forcing air beneath the craft to create lift, allowing it to glide on a cushion of air. In our program, it only works when students collaborate, communicate, and problem-solve together, engineering both the hovercraft and a strong sense of wellbeing and teamwork.

What space/ equipment do I need to prepare?

One thing only: a large hall space with a polished timber floor or smooth polished concrete. If you are unsure about your floor, you can send us a picture or give us a call to discuss.

We handle the rest, bringing all hovercraft equipment and materials, plus a get-to-keep Empowerment Journal for every student.

Do all of your staff hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC)?

Yes, of course. All Ranger Jamie staff hold current, valid Working With Children Checks and complete all required child safety training. We’re happy to provide documentation in advance upon request for your peace of mind and compliance.

What time will the Rangers arrive?

Our Rangers arrive approximately 45 minutes before the session to get everything adventure-ready. If parking is available close to the school hall, it certainly helps with a smooth and efficient setup.

I need a Risk Assessment. Where can I find this?

A comprehensive, fully compliant Risk Assessment is provided upon booking. It’s designed to meet school requirements and support planning and approval processes, and yes, it’s principal-approved.

Will my students have fun?

1,000 YES. And we guarantee you will too.
