All these questions - and many more - will be answered on this culturally invigorating excursion. The Gumaraa Rangers will guide your students through the traditions of one of the world’s oldest surviving cultures, teaching them about Aboriginal life before European settlement, the nature and consequences of contact between the Indigenous people and the settlers, and show them first-hand the integral part music, art and language had in their traditions. Among the cute and cuddly native Australian animals at Symbio Wildlife Park, your students will be able to learn about the world’s oldest surviving culture in the most vibrant setting! In a day jam-packed with up-close encounters to a variety of different animals your students will learn the significance and connection of native Australian animals to Aboriginal people. The Gumaraa Rangers will help your students explore the connection Aborginal people have with their land, and the history and traditions of their culture. Throughout the day students will observe traditional Aboriginal tools, weapons and artefacts, and participate in discussions about art, music and dance. A day full of close encounters they’re bound to never forget!

Students will be involved in team building activities such as bug catching, fishing, exploring our gorgeous coast on a secret coastal bushwalk, and test their knowledge through the Ranger Jamie Olympic Games. Through our experienced Rangers’ interactive presentation with museum-grade taxidermy animals, students will have the opportunity to understand the importance of the environment and how it supports the lives of people and other living things and learn ways they can help achieve sustainability!
